Orlando area

Furnished homes in Northwest Orlando.

Pine Hills, Rosemont, Lockhart and Hiawassee: residential blocks with quick access to AdventHealth, the Fairgrounds and I-4. Our Northwest Orlando homes are furnished whole houses, available by the night, the week or the month.

Where the six homes sit

Northwest Orlando is the stretch of the metro north and west of downtown, running from the Central Florida Fairgrounds out toward Wekiwa Springs and the SR-429 beltway. Silver Star Road, Pine Hills Road, US-441 (Orange Blossom Trail) and Clarcona-Ocoee Road carry the local traffic, and SR-408 runs along the southern edge, tying the area to downtown Orlando and the hospital core. Six of our thirteen houses sit across this stretch of the city, spread over three ZIP codes: 32808, 32810 and 32818.

These are working residential blocks: older concrete-block homes, several of them freshly renovated inside, set on streets with mature trees and driveways rather than garages in most cases. What the area buys a guest is room to park, a quiet street to come home to after a shift, and an expressway ramp nearby that skips the worst of downtown traffic. Each home's own page lists exactly what has been updated and what still shows its age.

AdventHealth Orlando, the hospital campus at the center of this cluster's commute

AdventHealth Orlando anchors the commute picture for this side of the city: it is reachable from every home here in well under twenty minutes, and it is the reference point many of our northwest guests use when they describe where they are staying. Downtown Orlando, Orlando Health / ORMC and Universal are all reachable too, just at different lengths of drive depending on which of the four neighborhoods a house sits in.

Pine Hills, Rosemont, Lockhart and Hiawassee

Four neighborhoods make up this cluster. Pine Hills, off Silver Star Road and Pine Hills Road, is the biggest of them and holds four of the six homes: the Head Avenue House, the Entertainment House, the Londonderry House and the Cozy House. It runs along the SR-408 expressway and edges the Central Florida Fairgrounds and the Orlando Amphitheater. Rosemont, a quieter, greener pocket around Lake Orlando off Clarcona-Ocoee Road and US-441, holds The Clue House and the Katherine House, both within easy reach of I-4 north toward Altamonte or south toward downtown.

Lockhart sits further north along US-441, between the city and Altamonte Springs, and it is where WinterPark Home is, on a quiet street a short walk from a community park with a playground and courts. Hiawassee is the farthest west of the four, a residential community along Hiawassee Road between Silver Star Road and Clarcona-Ocoee Road, with the SR-429 beltway close by. The Wekiwa House is the only one of ours out here, a compact two-bedroom that suits one or two people better than a big group.

College Park, a leafy, walkable neighborhood built along Edgewater Drive with its own village of shops and restaurants and the Ivanhoe and Loch Haven cultural district next door, also falls inside this area, close to AdventHealth Orlando's main campus. We do not keep a home inside College Park itself; The Clue House and WinterPark Home are the closest of ours if that is the pocket you want to be near.

The homes in this area

Here are the six homes in this part of the city, side by side.

The Clue House is the biggest of the six, six bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping fifteen, with full-size in-unit laundry, a desk set up for working from home, and a fenced yard. Entertainment Home is smaller at three bedrooms plus a bonus room, but it has the most to do indoors: a fireplace TV wall, a foosball table, table tennis, and a kitchen island with its own seating, plus an attached one-car garage. Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat suits a family or a small team that needs bunk space, with a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a bunk room holding two sets of bunk beds, sleeping up to eight across one full bathroom and a half bath.

Cozy Home keeps things simple: three bedrooms sharing one bathroom, a breakfast bar and a dining table for four, and full-size laundry. WinterPark Home suits a family or a solo clinician who wants a screened porch and a private driveway on a quiet residential street, with a park nearby and a keypad lock on the front door. Wekiwa Home, out in Hiawassee, is the smallest of the thirteen, two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, made for one or two people rather than a crowd.

None of the six is new construction. The Clue House shows its age in the exterior paint and the driveway, Cozy Home shares one bathroom across three bedrooms, and Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat's backyard is still being worked on, so for now it is for walking pets only. Every one of the six still comes with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer; what each one offers for a car varies from house to house, so it is worth checking before you book.

The drive to downtown, the hospitals and Universal

By road and without traffic, downtown Orlando runs 11 to 17 minutes from these six homes, AdventHealth Orlando runs 10 to 16 minutes, and Orlando Health / ORMC runs 12 to 18 minutes. Universal Orlando runs 14 minutes from the Head Avenue, Entertainment and Cozy houses, out to 26 minutes from WinterPark Home, with Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat at 17 and Wekiwa Home at 19. Orlando International Airport runs 33 to 39 minutes across the cluster, and Orlando's rush hours add time to the longer of these routes, particularly the airport run and the trip out to Universal.

Minutes by road without traffic, from the drive-time matrix.

The map below places each home in its true compass direction from downtown Orlando, with the distance from the centre showing drive minutes rather than miles. Homes in Pine Hills and Rosemont sit almost due northwest of the core; WinterPark Home in Lockhart sits further out along the same line; Wekiwa Home in Hiawassee sits the farthest west of the six.

Two routes are worth calling out on their own. WinterPark Home is about 12 minutes from AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, and Health Central in Ocoee is about 12 minutes from Wekiwa Home. The Pine Hills homes sit closest to the Central Florida Fairgrounds, 3 to 7 minutes away depending on the house, which matters on fair or concert weekends when parking near the grounds gets tight.

Daily life in Pine Hills, Rosemont and Lockhart

Cooking for yourself is easy here. Presidente Supermarket, a Latin grocer on North Pine Hills Road at Silver Star Road, has a cafeteria and juice counter inside. A few blocks south on West Colonial Drive, Caribbean Supercenter has anchored the neighborhood's Caribbean shopping for decades, and Enson Market, a large Asian supermarket in the same stretch, rounds out the corner. For a full-line American supermarket, the Walmart Supercenter on West Princeton Street is the closest big box, and the nearest Publix sits a short drive south at Metro West Village.

The everyday food here leans Caribbean and Latin. Island Jam Caribbean Cuisine on North Pine Hills Road is known for griot and fried plantains, and Golden Krust at West Colonial and North Kirkman is the reliable stop for Jamaican beef patties, jerk chicken and oxtail. Barnett Park, off West Colonial Drive, is the big green space for this cluster: a free splash pad through the warm months, playgrounds, walking trails, disc golf, and basketball and volleyball courts. The Central Florida Fairgrounds and the Orlando Amphitheater sit on the southern edge of Pine Hills, hosting the Central Florida Fair each spring plus concerts through the year.

For a workout, there is a 24-hour Planet Fitness on Silver Star Road, and the county's Barnett Park and Silver Star Recreation Center both have fitness rooms open to drop in. Pharmacies are easy to find along Silver Star Road and Pine Hills Road, at the Walmart on Princeton Street, and at the CVS and Walgreens locations through the area.

Daily life on the Hiawassee side

Hiawassee is the most car-dependent of the four areas across the whole portfolio, and by a distance the greenest: Wekiwa Springs and Rock Springs are both a short drive north of Wekiwa Home. The Publix at Metro West Village, rebuilt new and reopened in 2025, is the closest full supermarket, and a second Publix plus a large Walmart Supercenter sit further west on Colonial Drive toward Ocoee. West Oaks Mall in Ocoee is the area's enclosed mall, anchored by JCPenney and a Dillard's clearance store, with a fourteen-screen AMC theater, a food court and around eighty-five shops.

South Hiawassee Road through MetroWest carries the everyday restaurant row: Tacos Don Andres for birria, Habibi Lebanese Grill for shawarma, Mecatos Bakery & Cafe for Colombian pastries and coffee, a sushi bar, and Marco's Pizza, with Teak Neighborhood Grill just over on Kirkman Road for burgers and a weekend brunch. Mecatos is the closest sit-down cafe to Wekiwa Home.

Wekiwa Springs, about 18 minutes from Wekiwa Home

Wekiwa Springs, about 18 minutes from Wekiwa Home

Wekiwa Springs State Park, about 18 minutes north of Wekiwa Home, is the reason to pick this side of the metro: a clear spring that holds 72 degrees year-round, open to swimming, snorkeling, canoe and kayak rental, and hiking trails, with entry running roughly $6 per carload. A little farther north, Kelly Park / Rock Springs in Apopka is a natural lazy-river run where you float the spring on a tube, admission around $5 per vehicle, and it fills up early on warm weekends. Magnolia Park on Lake Apopka adds a fishing pier, a boat ramp, a playground and free-roaming peacocks.

Who books these homes

Travel nurses and other clinicians book several of these homes for the drive to AdventHealth Orlando or AdventHealth Altamonte Springs: The Clue House, WinterPark Home and Wekiwa Home are the three tagged for medical stays in this cluster, each with its own laundry. Families relocating to Orlando or waiting out a home repair use the same three homes, plus Cozy Home and Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat when the group is bigger than a couple of bedrooms can hold. Remote workers who want a desk already set up tend toward The Clue House, the only one of these six built with one. Wekiwa Home suits a solo remote worker instead: it is the smallest of the six, built for one or two people, not a full group.

Groups and crews lean toward Pine Hills. The Clue House sleeps fifteen across six bedrooms, Entertainment Home sleeps eleven with a games room to keep a group occupied indoors, and Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat's bunk room makes it a fit for a family with kids or a small team sharing one full bathroom. Contractors working a job nearby book the same handful of homes for the parking and the kitchen, since a crew eating at home for a few weeks runs on its own schedule.

Cheers' At Cozy Home, Miriam wrote in February 2026: 'The home is in a good spot right in the middle of restaurants and stores. Good distance from Universal Volcano Bay.' Short trips like these are common across this cluster.

Tolls, rush hour and parking

SR-408 and I-4 are the spines of the commute out of Pine Hills and Rosemont, and both are tolled, so a SunPass or E-PASS transponder is worth having if a stay runs more than a week or two. Out toward Hiawassee, the SR-429 beltway is also tolled and is the quickest way north to Apopka or west to Ocoee.

There is no SunRail station and no LYMMO bus out here, unlike the downtown-edge homes; this is a drive-everywhere part of the city, and LYNX buses run the main roads for anyone without a car. Orlando's rush hours build on Silver Star Road, Pine Hills Road, US-441 and SR-408 in both the morning and the evening, adding the most time to the longer routes in the table above, the airport run and the drive out to Universal.

  • Parking: The Clue House and WinterPark Home each have a private driveway, Entertainment Home has an attached one-car garage, and Wekiwa Home has private parking at its covered front entry. Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat and Cozy Home do not list a driveway or garage on their own pages, so ask us directly if that matters for your stay.
  • Tolls: SR-408, I-4 and, out toward Hiawassee, SR-429 are all tolled roads.
  • Transit: no SunRail or LYMMO out here; plan on a car for the whole stay.
