04The drive to AdventHealth Orlando

Four of AdventHealth's Central Florida campuses have exact drive times in our records: the Rollins Street flagship in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park and Apopka. A travel contract, a residency, a locum assignment or a system rollout project can start at any one of the four, and the home that fits best changes with which campus is on the badge. This section walks through the drive to each, home by home, then which house pairs best with which assignment.

For the Rollins Street campus itself, the numbers run tight across most of the portfolio. Fruit Tree Home in Holden Heights is about 8 minutes away. Amelia’s Arena Retreat in Parramore is about 9 minutes, and Game Day Getaway-Downtown Orlando in Washington Shores is about 10. WinterPark Home in Lockhart and City and Stadium Sanctuary Vibes in Washington Shores are also about 10 minutes each. The Clue House, Meet. Play. Stay. and Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat run close to 12 minutes; Cozy Home is about 13 and Piedmont about 14; and Wekiwa Home, our westernmost home, is about 16. These are typical road-routing times without traffic, and both I-4 and SR-408 slow at the morning and evening peaks.

05Getting to Altamonte Springs, Winter Park and Apopka

AdventHealth's other three campuses on this page sit north and northwest of the city, and a different part of the portfolio shortens those drives. WinterPark Home in Lockhart runs about 12 minutes to AdventHealth Altamonte Springs and about 6 minutes to AdventHealth Winter Park. For AdventHealth Apopka, Wekiwa Home in Hiawassee is about 16 minutes and Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat in Pine Hills is about 19; both of those two homes also reach Altamonte Springs in about 18 minutes. None of the thirteen homes sits inside Altamonte Springs, Winter Park or Apopka itself; every drive on this page starts from Orlando's west and northwest neighborhoods. For a schedule that bounces between the Rollins Street campus and the northern hospitals in the same rotation, the Rosemont area sits between the two: I-4 runs south to downtown and AdventHealth Orlando, and the same interstate runs north to AdventHealth Altamonte, with WinterPark Home anchoring that stretch.

The roads carrying these drives are the same three that move most of the metro. I-4 runs northeast to southwest through downtown and continues up toward Altamonte Springs and Winter Park; the SR-408 East-West Expressway connects the west-side homes to downtown and beyond; and US-441, Orange Blossom Trail, runs north through Lockhart on a direct line to the Altamonte campus. Homes in Pine Hills, Rosemont and Lockhart lean on SR-408 and US-441 for the northern campuses, while the downtown-edge and west-side homes use I-4 and SR-408 to reach Rollins Street. Both expressways are tolled by transponder or by plate; a SunPass or E-PASS is worth setting up for a contract with regular shifts, since paying by plate costs more per trip. A 7 a.m. start against the inbound rush and a 7 p.m. return against the outbound rush both run smoother than a shift that starts or ends in the middle of the afternoon peak, when traffic in both directions is heavier on I-4 and SR-408 alike.

AdventHealth pulls a wide range of people into furnished housing, and the shape of the stay is close to the same for all of them: arrive with a start date, unpack completely, and settle into a full kitchen and a front door of your own for weeks or months instead of a hotel stretch.

For clinicians and locum providers, the practical list is short: laundry in the house so scrubs go straight into the wash, Wi-Fi on from the first night, and a kitchen stocked with cookware and dishes so a 7 a.m. or a 7 p.m. shift does not end with a stop for takeout. A resident or fellow starting a multi-year program can use the first month to look for a permanent apartment without living out of a hotel room while doing it. Clinical and IT staff on a system rollout usually travel in twos or threes, and a house with several bedrooms lets a small team split the cost of one address instead of booking separate hotel rooms. Relocating employees waiting on a home purchase get the same setup for as long as the closing takes, and the agreement extends by the month if the date slips, which it often does. Physicians and locum tenens providers arriving for a short credentialing period or a few weeks of coverage can use the same houses on a shorter booking through each home's Airbnb or Vrbo listing rather than committing to a full month up front. The 25th Street House in Holden Heights is about 8 minutes from AdventHealth Orlando. It is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow with full-size laundry on site, keyless entry, a screened front porch and a fenced backyard with fruit trees, and it carries 142 Airbnb reviews at a 4.83 rating, more than any other home in the portfolio. It works well for a solo clinician or two colleagues, and adequately for a family of four.

The Amelia House in Parramore is about 9 minutes away: four bedrooms and two bathrooms, with one bedroom holding its own attached bathroom, ceiling fans and wall-mounted TVs in the bedrooms, and a fenced backyard shaded by mature trees. The attached bathroom is useful for two people keeping different shift schedules under one roof. The Dollins House in Washington Shores rounds out the three at about 10 minutes: also four bedrooms, with blackout curtains in the bedrooms for anyone sleeping through daylight after a night shift, a shaded lot under mature oaks, and a partly fenced backyard.

08Homes for the Altamonte, Winter Park and Apopka campuses

A contract or a rollout at one of AdventHealth's other Central Florida hospitals points to a different part of the portfolio. The Katherine House in Lockhart is the pick for Altamonte Springs and Winter Park, at about 12 and 6 minutes. It is a furnished three-bedroom, one-bathroom home with a screened porch, a private driveway and a keypad lock on the front door, on a quiet street a short walk from a community park with a playground and courts.

For AdventHealth Apopka, the Wekiwa House in Hiawassee is about 16 minutes and the Londonderry House in Pine Hills is about 19; both also reach Altamonte Springs in about 18 minutes. Wekiwa Home is a compact two-bedroom, two-bathroom home suited to a single professional or a couple. 09Billing for AdventHealth's clinicians and relocating staff

Every stay starts with a written agreement naming the home, the dates, the rate and the deposit, plus itemized monthly receipts your agency, program or employer can process for a housing stipend or a relocation reimbursement. If your staffing agency, your program's relocation office, or AdventHealth itself wants to be the party on the agreement, we write it that way, with a monthly invoice in that name. Established agencies, employers and insurers can get Net-30 terms on a signed agreement or a purchase order, with the first booking paid up front; a W-9 and a certificate of insurance are available on request, since Libema carries a commercial landlord liability policy.

If you are booking as an individual clinician or a relocating employee paying your own way, the agreement works the same as any other reservation: a rate and a deposit confirmed in writing, no agency or purchase order required. Extensions run month by month at the same terms, which matters when a 13-week contract turns into 26 or a home search runs long; tell us as early as you can so we can hold the following month at the same house where possible. Every guest, whether the agreement is written to an agency or to a person, gets the same set of itemized receipts and the same written terms; the only difference is whose name goes on the invoice. 10Around AdventHealth Orlando

College Park, one of Orlando's established close-in neighborhoods, sits a short hop from AdventHealth Orlando's main campus, built along Edgewater Drive where Foxtail Coffee, Cups & Pups and the small French cafe Tartine anchor a walkable strip of independent shops. Loch Haven Park, just north, gathers the Orlando Museum of Art, the Orlando Science Center, Orlando Shakes and Orlando Family Stage in one place. We do not keep a home inside College Park itself, but several of our homes sit only a short drive away: Amelia’s Arena Retreat on the downtown edge in Parramore, and WinterPark Home and Head Avenue House across northwest Orlando, each a workable base for an evening trip into College Park's shops and cafes. Harry P. Leu Gardens, a fifty-acre botanical garden on the lake, sits a little farther along the same stretch, and is worth the drive on a day off between shifts.

Closer to the Amelia and 25th Street houses, the Publix at The Paramount on Lake Eola is the downtown grocery store, with another Publix on South Orange Avenue near Holden Heights. Lake Eola Park has a roughly one-mile sidewalk loop and a Sunday farmers market. Near Game Day Getaway-Downtown Orlando in Washington Shores, Nikki's Place on South Orange Blossom Trail has served soul food since 1999, and Lake Lorna Doone Park, a short drive from the stadium, has a walking loop, outdoor fitness stations and a splash pad. Pharmacies are easy to reach from any of the three homes: a Walmart Supercenter, CVS and Walgreens sit along West Colonial and Orange Blossom Trail, and the Publix pharmacy at Lake Eola covers the downtown edge. For a full-service gym with a pool, the Downtown Orlando YMCA on North Mills Avenue is a short drive from the Amelia and 25th Street houses.

None of the homes has a pool; they are residential houses. Bed and bath counts are the counts in each home's own listing, and sofas are not counted as beds.

Six homes publish a street address on the site: the 25th Street, Amelia, Dollins, Katherine, Piedmont and Head Avenue houses. For the other six we publish the neighborhood and zip code and share the exact address at booking. A monthly rate, a pet policy and the deposit are all confirmed in writing before you commit, and several of the thirteen homes accept pets on request.
