Medical housing

Furnished housing near Orlando Health Health Central (Ocoee).

10 to 23 min from our homesClosest: Entertainment Home, 10 min

Health Central Hospital in Ocoee is Orlando Health's west-side campus on West Colonial Drive, the closest hospital to our Pine Hills and Hiawassee homes.

A whole furnished house near your assignment beats a hotel room or a shared listing: your own kitchen, laundry, private parking, and a quiet place to rest between shifts, at a monthly rate that works with a housing stipend. Families staying near a patient get the same house with room for relatives.

The Health Central campus

Health Central Hospital sits in Ocoee, on West Colonial Drive, at the far west edge of the metro area our homes cover. Orlando Health's own footprint spreads across several campuses, and the fact we work from is a plain one: Health Central is the closest of them to our Pine Hills and Hiawassee homes. The downtown and northern Orlando Health campuses sit closer to a different set of our thirteen houses. If your work, your family or your treatment points you to this hospital, the homes on this page are the ones built around that particular drive.

A hospital runs around the clock no matter which side of the metro it sits on. Someone is starting a shift as someone else is finishing one, and somewhere inside the building a family is waiting on news that has nothing to do with the time on the clock. Libema Properties is an independent housing provider, and we have no relationship with Orlando Health. What we can offer is a furnished house with a kitchen, laundry and a driveway a short drive from wherever the campus is, so that the rest of a hard week or a long assignment does not have to run out of a hotel room.

Three of our thirteen homes land on the exact same drive time to Health Central, worth naming plainly: Meet. Play. Stay., Entertainment Home and Cozy Home are all about 10 minutes away by road, without traffic, arriving from three different neighborhoods. Ties like this turn up elsewhere in the fact pack too: three homes also read 7 minutes to downtown Orlando and four read 11, since thirteen houses clustered on the west side of a spread-out metro naturally land on the same minute count more than once. Anyone weighing an assignment or an admission that could land at either Orlando Health campus can line this page up against our Orlando Health / ORMC page before choosing a home, since the two campuses pull from a different set of our thirteen houses.

The homes closest to Health Central

The Meet & Play House in Malibu Groves is about 10 minutes from Health Central. It is the newest-built home in the portfolio, with an attached garage and the only fenced backyard among these three homes. It sleeps up to nine across three bedrooms, two of which have a desk and an office chair, and the game room holds a pool table, a dart board and a second table.

The Entertainment House in Pine Hills is also about 10 minutes away. It is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom block house that sleeps up to eleven once the bonus room is counted, with a white sectional facing a fireplace TV wall, a foosball table, table tennis and an attached one-car garage. It carries 88 Airbnb reviews at a 4.76 rating.

The Cozy House, a few streets over in Pine Hills, rounds out the group at the same 10 minutes. It is smaller and simpler: three bedrooms sharing one bathroom, a breakfast bar, a dining table for four, and full-size laundry in the house. It suits a family or a small crew comfortable sharing one bath.

Behind those three, the Head Avenue House, also in Pine Hills, is about 11 minutes away, a six-bedroom home with an in-home workspace and full-size laundry. The Wekiwa House in Hiawassee is about 12 minutes, a two-bedroom house that suits one or two people. Amelia’s Arena Retreat is also about 12 minutes, the Dollins and Sunset Lake houses about 13, Downtown & Stadium Cozy Retreat 14, Piedmont 15, Fruit Tree Home 16, and WinterPark Home about 23.

The map places each home in its true compass direction from Health Central, with the distance from the centre set by the drive time in minutes. Matched against the fact pack's own areas, the cluster nearest this campus sits in Northwest Orlando and West Orlando: the Pine Hills homes (Head Avenue, Entertainment, Londonderry and Cozy), Meet. Play. Stay. in Malibu Groves, and Wekiwa Home in Hiawassee.

Each home is placed in its true compass direction from Health Central (Ocoee); distance from the centre is the drive time by road, not miles.

Amelia’s Arena Retreat sits in Downtown Orlando, Fruit Tree Home is South of Downtown, and the Piedmont, Dollins and Sunset Lake houses are also West Orlando, in pockets built toward the city core. WinterPark Home is Northwest Orlando, the same region as the Pine Hills cluster: its own record places it in Lockhart/Rosemont, on the opposite side of that region from Pine Hills, and it is the farthest home from Health Central on this page at 23 minutes. Two homes can sit in different neighborhoods and still land on the same minute count, so pair this map with the neighborhood pages before you choose: Pine Hills covers the four-home cluster nearest this campus, Lockhart covers WinterPark Home, and Hiawassee covers Wekiwa Home. Malibu Groves is covered together with Washington Shores in our west-Orlando area guide, and Hiawassee has a guide of its own.

The shift commute

The minutes on this page are typical road-routing times without traffic. West Colonial Drive, where Health Central sits, carries a steady flow of retail and local traffic through most of the day, without one single sharp rush hour. From the Entertainment and Cozy houses, the route runs down Silver Star Road or Pine Hills Road to West Colonial Drive; from Meet. Play. Stay. in Malibu Groves and Wekiwa Home in Hiawassee, Kirkman Road and Hiawassee Road feed the same corridor. None of these are interstate-grade roads, so the drive slows with signal timing and everyday traffic more than with a defined peak, though a shift that starts or ends at 7 a.m. or 7 p.m. still meets more of it than one that starts at 3 p.m.

SR-429, the Western Beltway, runs toward Ocoee and Apopka; SR-408 runs the other way, east toward downtown. Both are tolled, by transponder or by plate. Over a longer assignment, a SunPass or E-PASS transponder is worth setting up early, since plate tolling costs more per trip. Silver Star Road, Pine Hills Road, Kirkman Road, Hiawassee Road and West Colonial Drive itself are free surface streets and carry the rest of the trip to Health Central.

Parking at the house is one less thing to plan around after a long shift. Meet. Play. Stay. and Entertainment Home each have an attached one-car garage, so a night-shift arrival in the early morning pulls straight into a driveway, no hunting for a spot on the street. On the hospital side, parking is Health Central's own arrangement to explain; check with your unit or your agency for what applies to a traveler.

This corner of the portfolio leans on a car more than most. LYNX buses run Silver Star Road and West Colonial Drive, but there is no SunRail service this far west, so plan on driving the whole trip; there is no mixing in rail the way a downtown stay allows. Every home is entered with keyless entry or a lockbox, so a shift that runs past midnight does not turn into coordinating a key handoff with anyone.

For travel clinicians

A monthly agreement matched to your assignment is the core of what we do here, the same as everywhere else in the portfolio. You get a written agreement naming the home, the dates, the rate and the deposit, plus itemized monthly receipts an agency can process against a housing stipend. If your agency prefers to be the named party on the agreement, we write it that way, and net-30 terms are available to an established agency or hospital system on a signed agreement or purchase order. Extensions run month by month at the same terms; tell us as soon as a shorter assignment looks like stretching longer and we will hold the next month where we can.

For the daily reality of a contract, these three homes are set up the way a clinician actually uses a house. Meet. Play. Stay. has desks in two of its three bedrooms, useful when two travelers sharing the house keep different hours for paperwork or study. Entertainment Home and Cozy Home both have their own washer and dryer, so scrubs go into the machine between shifts without a trip to a shared laundry room down the hall. Wi-Fi is on from the first night at all three, and beds are made up before you arrive. Our travel nurse and medical housing page covers the stipend paperwork and the homes near the other Orlando-area campuses.

For families of a patient

A long stay near a hospital changes shape fast when you are paying for it by the night in a hotel. A house a short drive from Health Central lets a family spread out, cook its own meals, and give whoever is doing the overnight vigil a quiet room to sleep in during the day. Cozy Home, about 10 minutes from Health Central, has three bedrooms and shares its one bathroom the way a family already does at home. Entertainment Home, the same 10 minutes away, sleeps up to eleven once the bonus room is used, room for grandparents or siblings who come in to help for part of the stay. A child's treatment often means a parent alternating with a partner or a grandparent across the week, and three bedrooms make that rotation easier than passing a single hotel room back and forth.

Both homes book by the month on the same written agreement we use for a clinician's contract, and both extend month by month if a discharge date moves, which it often does. For a shorter admission or a procedure with a known date, nightly and weekly stays run through each home's own Airbnb and Vrbo listing instead.

The situation itself already asks a lot of a family, so we keep this part simple: Libema Properties is an independent housing provider, and we are not affiliated with Orlando Health or Health Central. What we can do is answer the same day, put the rate and deposit in writing, and keep the terms flexible for a timeline nobody controls. For more on the paperwork and planning, see our page on housing for patients' families and our guide on staying near the hospital when someone you love is admitted.

None of the three has a pool; each is a plain single-family house rented as a whole home. Meet. Play. Stay., Entertainment Home and Cozy Home are all neighborhood-plus-zip listings on the site, with the exact address shared at booking. Six homes elsewhere in the portfolio, the Amelia, Head Avenue, Piedmont, Dollins, Katherine and 25th Street houses, publish a street address on the site. Bed and bath counts are the counts published in each home's own listing, and sofas are never counted as beds.

Living near the campus

Health Central sits on West Colonial Drive in Ocoee, the same road that carries most of the daily errands for our Pine Hills and Malibu Groves homes. Groceries for the Entertainment and Cozy houses run through Presidente Supermarket, a Latin grocer at 2722 North Pine Hills Road with a cafeteria and juice counter, and, a few blocks south on West Colonial, Caribbean Supercenter and Enson Market, a large Asian supermarket in the Chinatown plaza. The Walmart Supercenter on West Princeton Street covers a full weekly shop. From Meet. Play. Stay. in Malibu Groves, the newer Publix at Metro West Village on South Hiawassee Road or the Publix on South Kirkman Road are the closer picks.

For food near the Pine Hills homes, Island Jam Caribbean Cuisine on North Pine Hills Road is a well-reviewed Haitian kitchen known for griot and fried plantains, and Golden Krust at West Colonial and North Kirkman is the reliable stop for Jamaican beef patties and jerk chicken. From Meet. Play. Stay., the MetroWest restaurant row on South Hiawassee Road is the everyday choice: Tacos Don Andres for birria, Habibi Lebanese Grill for shawarma, a sushi spot, Marco's Pizza, and Teak Neighborhood Grill off Kirkman Road for a weekend brunch. Mecatos Bakery & Cafe on South Hiawassee Road is the closest sit-down coffee stop to Malibu Groves and pours Colombian coffee; near the Pine Hills homes, the Caribbean bakeries along West Colonial serve coffee alongside their patties, which is the local habit.

Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka, north of the Health Central homes

Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka, north of the Health Central homes

Barnett Park, at 4801 West Colonial Drive, is the big park for the Entertainment and Cozy houses: 159 acres with a free splash pad through the warm months, playgrounds, walking trails, disc golf, and basketball and volleyball courts. The Central Florida Fairgrounds and the Orlando Amphitheater sit a few minutes away on the same road. Farther west, West Oaks Mall in Ocoee, the same town as Health Central, has a food court, a fourteen-screen AMC theater and around eighty-five shops. Wekiwa Springs State Park, where you can swim in a spring that holds 72 degrees year-round or rent a canoe at the concession, is about 18 minutes north of Wekiwa Home in Hiawassee.

All of this runs on a car. LYNX buses cover Silver Star Road and West Colonial Drive, but there is no SunRail this far west, and the SR-408 and SR-429 tolls are worth a transponder if your stay runs more than a few weeks. Pharmacies are easy to reach from any of the three homes: CVS and Walgreens sit along Silver Star Road and Pine Hills Road, and the Walmart and Publix stores each run a pharmacy counter of their own.

Good to know

Common questions.

How far are the homes from Orlando Health Health Central (Ocoee)?

Between 10 and 23 minutes by road, depending on the home. The table on this page lists every home, and each home page has its own drive-time table.

Do you rent for a 13-week assignment?

Yes. Our homes are set up for monthly and multi-month stays, which covers a standard travel contract with room to extend.

Can I get a lease and receipts for my stipend?

Yes. We provide a written agreement and payment receipts you can submit to your agency for a housing stipend or reimbursement.

Can family of a patient stay with you?

Yes. Families keeping vigil for a long treatment often want a house near the campus with a kitchen and room for relatives. See our page on patient and family stays.

Why do three of your homes list the exact same drive time to Health Central?

Meet. Play. Stay. in Malibu Groves and the Entertainment and Cozy houses in Pine Hills sit in different neighborhoods, but all three read about 10 minutes from Health Central by road, without traffic. Use each home's own bedrooms, bathrooms and features, listed on its page, to choose between them; the drive time alone is the same for all three.

Can I book one of the homes near Health Central for less than a month?

Yes. The Meet & Play, Entertainment and Cozy houses all run nightly and weekly stays through their own Airbnb and Vrbo listings, which suits a shorter admission or a scheduled procedure. Monthly stays are booked directly with us on a written agreement, the better fit for a full assignment or an open-ended treatment.

Is there a desk for a clinician who needs to do paperwork between shifts?

Meet. Play. Stay. has desks and office chairs in two of its three bedrooms, about 10 minutes from Health Central. The Clue House, about 11 minutes away in Pine Hills, also has an in-home workspace. Neither Entertainment Home nor Cozy Home lists a desk on its page.

Which of the three closest homes has a yard for kids while a parent is admitted?

Meet. Play. Stay., about 10 minutes from Health Central, has a fenced backyard with cornhole. Entertainment Home and Cozy Home, also about 10 minutes away, both have yards that are not fenced. All three are furnished and ready for a family to move into for a month or longer.

What roads lead to Health Central from the Pine Hills homes?

From the Entertainment and Cozy houses, the route runs down Silver Star Road or Pine Hills Road to West Colonial Drive, the road Health Central sits on. The Clue House, also in Pine Hills, uses the same Silver Star Road and Pine Hills Road corridor toward West Colonial. These are surface streets near the hospital, so the last stretch moves with local traffic more than interstate speed.

Do any of the homes near Health Central accept pets?

Several homes across the portfolio accept pets. The policy and any deposit are not published on the site; they are confirmed in writing when you inquire about the Meet & Play, Entertainment or Cozy house, so ask early if you are traveling with one.
