Orlando gets filed under vacation, which is why remote workers overlook it. Look at it as a place to live for a month and the case is strong: a large airport with nonstop flights to most of the country, Eastern time, mild winters, a city with lakes and neighborhoods rather than a resort strip, and houses that rent by the month for less than a downtown apartment somewhere colder. This is the practical version of that case.
The two questions to ask before you book anywhere
First: where will you actually work? A dining table is fine for a week and miserable for a month. Two of our homes have a proper setup. The Meet & Play House has desks and office chairs in two of its bedrooms, so a couple who both work remotely can each close a door. The Head Avenue House has an in-home workspace. The other homes have a dining table and a quiet bedroom, which works for someone who mostly needs a laptop and a closed door for calls.
Second: what is the internet like? Wi-Fi is included at our homes, and because plans differ by house we confirm the setup with you before you book. If your work depends on video calls all day, say so when you inquire and we will tell you plainly what the house you are looking at has.
Time zone, airport, car
Orlando is on Eastern time, which keeps you aligned with New York and an hour ahead of Chicago. Orlando International Airport is 26 to 39 minutes from our homes by road, close enough to fly out for a meeting and be back for dinner. You will want a car. Orlando is a driving city; the neighborhoods our homes sit in are residential, and the good parts of the region are spread out.
The working week
A month in a house settles into a rhythm quickly. Morning coffee on the screened porch at the Katherine House or the covered patio at Meet. Play. Stay.. Work until the afternoon. Then the thing Orlando does better than most cities: somewhere to go at 5 pm that is fifteen minutes away.
- Downtown and Lake Eola for a walk around the lake and dinner; the park hosts a farmers market on Sundays.
- Winter Park, north of the city, for Park Avenue's shops, the Morse Museum of American Art and the scenic boat tour on the chain of lakes.
- Wekiwa Springs State Park, about 18 minutes from the Wekiwa House, where the spring stays about 72 degrees year-round. Swim after work in September and it makes sense of the whole idea.
- The coast. Cocoa Beach and the Space Coast are about an hour east; the Gulf beaches around Clearwater and St. Pete are about two hours west. Both are weekend trips from a month-long base.
When to come
October through April is the easy answer: dry, warm, comfortable. Summer is hot and humid with an afternoon storm most days, and hurricane season runs June through November, with the busiest stretch in August, September and October. People work remotely from Orlando in summer too; they just plan the outdoor hours for the morning and keep an eye on the forecast.
The money side
Our homes rent at one monthly rate for the whole house. Compare that to a nightly listing with a 28-day discount, or a furnished apartment with a three-month minimum plus fees, and a house usually wins for a month or a season, especially if two people share it and both need a desk. Extending is simple, which matters when a month turns into a winter. The remote worker page has the details, and the workspace page lists exactly which homes have a desk.
The homes built for a work-from-home month
Three of the thirteen homes carry our own tag for remote and hybrid work, which means past guests have booked them for exactly this: a laptop, a door that closes for calls, and a kitchen you actually use instead of a stack of takeout containers. Here they are side by side.

The Head Avenue House in Pine Hills is a six-bedroom ranch with a desk built into one bedroom, ceiling fans in every room, and a full-size washer and dryer in the house rather than down a hallway. It sleeps up to fifteen, which sounds like overkill for one remote worker until you picture two or three colleagues on the same project splitting the bedrooms and each still getting a door that closes. The fenced yard and private driveway mean a dog can go outside between calls without a leash and without asking anyone.
The Meet & Play House in Malibu Groves is the newest-built home in the portfolio, with desks and office chairs in two of its three bedrooms, an attached garage, a laundry room, and a fenced backyard with cornhole for the stretch between meetings. The kitchen island seats people for coffee before the first call, and the covered back patio with its wicker seating is the better desk on a mild afternoon.

The Wekiwa House in Hiawassee is the smallest home in the portfolio, best for one to four people, with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a full-size washer and dryer. It has no dedicated desk; the dining table for four does that job, and what you get for the smaller footprint is quiet and a short drive to Wekiwa Springs State Park. It suits a single remote worker or a couple better than it suits a shared house.
All three sit on ordinary residential streets rather than a main road, and none of the three has a pool to maintain or a shared wall to carry a neighbor's noise, since every Libema home is a freestanding single-family house. The Clue House packs seven beds into its six bedrooms, which is worth knowing if two members of the same small team would rather share a room than book two separate houses.
Getting to Lockheed Martin, the research park and the office corridors
Remote does not always mean never in an office. A hybrid schedule, a quarterly all-hands, or a contract that runs partly on-site is common enough that it is worth knowing the drive before you book. Central Florida's job map runs along a corridor of employer clusters rather than one downtown core: Lockheed Martin's Orlando operations, Central Florida Research Park, where Team Orlando's simulation and training campus sits (a separate address from UCF's main campus, even though the two sit close on a map), the MetroWest office corridor, and Valencia College's West Campus. Siemens Energy's campus, another employer along the same corridor, runs 26 to 35 minutes across the whole portfolio.
From The Clue House, Lockheed Martin is about 17 minutes, the Research Park about 31, UCF's main campus about 30, Valencia West about 9, and the MetroWest offices about 9. From Meet. Play. Stay. the same trips run 15, 29, 29, 7 and 7 minutes. From Wekiwa Home, the farthest west of the three, they run 23, 36, 36, 13 and 12 minutes.
That chart covers all thirteen homes, not only the three tagged for remote stays, in case a hybrid schedule points you toward a different cluster of ours instead. Whichever home you land in, the number is the one we confirm with you before you book, by road and without traffic; Orlando's rush hours stretch the longer of these routes.
Two of the roads that get you there are tolled, SR-408 and the SR-429 beltway west of Hiawassee, so a SunPass or E-PASS transponder is worth setting up before your first commute rather than paying the higher plate-billed rate at the gantry. There is no rail transit out to any of the three remote-tagged homes, so a hybrid schedule here means a car, not a train pass.
Creative Village and downtown for a change of scene
Some weeks the house is enough. Other weeks you want a different chair and a different view. Creative Village, the mixed-use district on the western edge of downtown, is built for exactly that: it holds UCF's downtown campus, Valencia's downtown campus, and Electronic Arts' Orlando studio, EA Orlando, inside a few blocks. It is about 10 minutes from The Clue House, about 10 minutes from Meet. Play. Stay., and about 17 from Wekiwa Home.

College Park, a short drive northeast, is the closest thing our area guides call a real cafe row: Foxtail Coffee on Edgewater Drive is roomy and laptop-friendly, Cups & Pups Coffee, also on Edgewater Drive, is dog-friendly and pours locally roasted beans, and Tartine, a third Edgewater Drive address, handles pastries in a small French setting. Closer to the Meet & Play and Wekiwa side of the portfolio, Mecatos Bakery & Cafe on South Hiawassee Road is the sit-down option, Colombian coffee and food rather than a drive-through window.
None of this replaces the house. It is the option for a day you would rather not spend alone with your own kitchen, and it costs you a short drive rather than a hotel-lobby workaround.
Keeping the kitchen and the fridge stocked for a month
A month of cooking for yourself changes the math on where you shop, and the three remote-tagged homes sit in two different grocery landscapes.
Around The Clue House in Pine Hills, the corner of Pine Hills Road and West Colonial Drive is one of the better places in Orlando to cook from: Presidente Supermarket at 2722 North Pine Hills Road is a Latin grocer with a cafeteria and juice counter built in, Caribbean Supercenter at 5111 West Colonial Drive has anchored Caribbean shopping there for decades, and Enson Market at 5132 West Colonial Drive is a large Asian supermarket in the same plaza. The Walmart Supercenter on West Princeton Street covers the full-line American shop, and pharmacies line Silver Star Road and Pine Hills Road alongside it.
Around Meet. Play. Stay. and Wekiwa Home, the everyday stop is the Publix at Metro West Village on South Hiawassee Road, rebuilt new and reopened in 2025, with another Publix and a large Walmart Supercenter further out on West Colonial toward Ocoee. West Oaks Mall in Ocoee, anchored by JCPenney, a Dillard's clearance store and a fourteen-screen AMC theater with a food court and around eighty-five shops, is the general-shopping option on a day away from the desk.
For lunch without cooking, the MetroWest restaurant row on South Hiawassee Road covers real range close to both homes: Tacos Don Andres for birria, Habibi Lebanese Grill for shawarma, and Teak Neighborhood Grill off Kirkman Road for a weekend brunch.
For a midday break away from the desk, a 24-hour Planet Fitness sits out on Silver Star Road toward Ocoee, and LA Fitness and EOS both run locations along West Colonial Drive. If you would rather not sign a short-term gym contract for a single month, the county's own recreation centers at Barnett Park and along Silver Star Road have workout rooms and drop-in programs open to the public.
What's already set up when you walk in
Every one of the thirteen homes, including all three set up for remote stays, comes with the same baseline, confirmed in writing when you book.
Exact inclusions vary a little by home and are confirmed in writing when you book.
A few things vary by house rather than by rule. Private parking is a driveway at The Clue House, an attached garage at Meet. Play. Stay., and a covered front entry with its own parking at Wekiwa Home. Arrival works the same way at all three: you let yourself in with keyless entry or a lockbox, and the code or the key location reaches you in arrival notes a few days ahead, so there is no handoff to schedule around your first day on the job.
Wi-Fi is on in every house before you arrive, but the plan and the router differ from house to house, which is why we do not publish a single speed number for all thirteen. If your work runs on video calls back to back, say so when you inquire and we will tell you plainly what the specific house has rather than promise the same thing for the whole portfolio.
Paying for the month yourself, or having your employer pay
Most remote workers book these homes the same way anyone books a monthly stay: the rate, the deposit and the pet policy are confirmed in writing when you inquire, you sign a written monthly agreement, and the receipts are itemized so you can keep your own records straight for a home-office deduction or an expense report. Several homes accept pets, with the policy and any deposit confirmed before you commit. We do not publish rates on the site because they vary by home and by season.
If your employer is covering the stay directly, as part of a relocation package or a remote-work stipend, we can write the agreement in the company's name with you as the occupant, invoice monthly, and provide a W-9 and a certificate of insurance on request, since Libema carries a commercial landlord liability policy. Net-30 terms apply to established companies, agencies and insurers on a signed agreement or purchase order, with the first booking paid up front; that is a business arrangement, not something we extend to an individual paying their own way.
Extensions run by the month. If a one-month plan turns into a season, tell us as soon as you know and we will extend the same agreement at the same terms; if the house is already booked for the following month, we will say so early rather than let you find out at the end of a lease.
Bed and bath counts on the site match what each home's own listing publishes, and a sofa is never counted as a bed. If you are weighing a monthly stay here against a furnished apartment or an extended-stay hotel elsewhere in the city, ask us for the exact inclusions in writing before you compare the numbers side by side; a whole house at one rate covers ground an hourly-billed apartment fee schedule often does not.
Springs, parks and the west side after work
The west side of the portfolio, where Meet. Play. Stay. and Wekiwa Home sit, is the greenest part of it, and there is more to do out here than a swim.
Kelly Park, also called Rock Springs, in Apopka is a natural lazy river: you float the spring on a rented tube for a few dollars, admission runs about $5 per vehicle, and it fills to capacity early on warm weekends, so plan a morning start. Back at Wekiwa Springs itself, the concession rents a canoe or kayak for about $17 for the first two hours if you would rather paddle than swim. Magnolia Park on Lake Apopka, at 2929 South Binion Road, adds a fishing pier, a boat ramp, a playground, an eco-education center and free-roaming peacocks, and the Lake Apopka Loop Trail along the lake's north shore is a flat wildlife drive and bike path if you want to move after a day at a desk.
Closer to The Clue House, Barnett Park at 4801 West Colonial Drive is 159 acres with a free splash pad, playgrounds, walking trails, disc golf, and basketball and volleyball courts, and the Central Florida Fairgrounds next door hosts the Central Florida Fair each spring and concerts through the year, about 3 minutes from the house. None of it requires planning a trip; it sits along your normal drive.
What guests working a month here told us
The Meet & Play House carries a 5.0 rating across 34 Airbnb reviews, and Cristina, who stayed in July 2026, wrote about using it for exactly this kind of stay.
"Very new home with everything you could need. We came in to see a concert and this was very close to the Amphitheater. It was clean, easy in and out with clear instructions. We would stay again if we were in the area again."
"We absolutely loved this Airbnb! It was so cute and CLEAN! It was perfect for the event we attended at the Amphitheater. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed the backyard area as well! :)"
"My stay at pearlwood is really wonderful, it’s home away from home, very comfortable and cosy."
The other two homes tagged for remote work carry their own numbers: the Head Avenue House is at 4.86 across 61 reviews, and the Wekiwa House is at 4.69 across 36. All three sets are real, taken verbatim from each home's own listing, and the full wall for every home is on our reviews page.
