A hotel is the right answer for one person for one night. For a family of six, a crew of four or a couple of colleagues on a two-week assignment, a furnished house usually wins, and it is worth saying exactly why and where it does not.
Space
Two hotel rooms give a family two beds and two televisions. A three-bedroom house gives them a living room, a kitchen table, three bedrooms and a yard, at one rate for the whole group.
Meals
Every one of our homes has a full kitchen. Breakfast before the park, packed lunches, a late dinner after the game: cooked at home instead of bought out three times a day.
Laundry
A washer and dryer at the house means one suitcase for a week and clean work clothes on a long assignment.
Parking
A driveway, carport or pad at the door. No garage charge, no valet, no permit.
Where a hotel still wins
Daily housekeeping, a front desk, a pool and a location on International Drive or inside a resort. Our homes have none of those. They are on residential streets on the west, northwest and downtown sides of Orlando, and the tradeoff is space and price. The north-side home in Lockhart, WinterPark Home, is the closest to Altamonte Springs.
The bill
Compare the whole-house rate for your dates on the booking page with two or three hotel rooms for the same nights, then add the meals you would not have to buy. For a group, the house is usually the cheaper stay as well as the more comfortable one.
